2 Ways to Work with Julie

I’ve found that our work together is more helpful and connected when parents can find time away from your child/children. Infants in arms are always welcome.

Free 15 minute Consultation

  • This is most often a phone call. I welcome any questions you may have about working with me. It’s also a good time to let me know what your biggest challenges and your greatest joys are around parenting! I will share some ideas for how I might support you and your parenting journey.

1 Hour Session - $80

  • Phone or In-Person

1/2 Hour Session - $45

  • These are offered for parents who find it difficult to arrange time to be away from their child/children for a full hour. These are typically phone sessions.

WHAT WE’LL EXPLORE

In our work together, we might explore:

-  a map of your child’s needs

  • What are they trying to communicate with you through their behavior?

  • What are they missing or maybe getting too much of; what are they feeling?

(As with all people - no matter the age -  many of these needs, these feelings, these behaviors are often things we are not fully aware of. Finding the emotional source of the challenging behavior helps us address it properly so that we’re not just putting out the same fire over and over again.)

- a map of Child Development and how it relates to YOUR CHILD

  • Understanding the range of typical Child Development milestones for each age can help us in many ways!

We can adjust our responses to certain behaviors, and we can discover whether behaviors we’re concerned about might be “normal” (although often still challenging!) and what behaviors might be areas of true concern.

  • Each child is unique . . .  and each parent is unique!  It’s important to recognize that our children’s, as well as our own, individual temperaments play a big part in our relationships.

  • There is no one-size-fits-all book! But there are guideposts within us that can help us navigate this ever-changing journey.  Once we separate what’s most important (it’s different for each of us) from all of the “noise,” we can learn how to tune in and practice trusting our internal compass to help guide us in every situation.

- a map of your own Internal Story about parenting & connection - and how that affects our relationships with our child/children

  • We all begin this journey with our individual thoughts, experiences, and beliefs about parenting. These all work together to influence our parenting philosophy, our behaviors, our emotional reactions, & more. Clients often find it helpful to explore this area so that we can sort out which pieces of our current parenting are conscious choices and which pieces might be part of our automatic programming (we all have it!) based on our past.

Parents who expect change in themselves as well as in their children,

who accept it and find in it the joy as well as the pains of growth,

are likely to be the happiest and most confident parents.”
