About Julie
Over the past 25 years as an Early Childhood Teacher, I’ve worked with hundreds of children.
Parenting, however, has been the most challenging and by far the most magical of all of my experiences!
My career has been varied, but I’ve always found myself pulled back to working with children and families who have experienced trauma. This work has taught me that self-reflection, self-regulation, and the continued search for connection and understanding are the first steps to creating healthy and healing relationships. Along the way - amazing, kind, knowledgeable, and loving people have shown up - often at the most needed times - to support me, to teach me, to guide me. I am the parent I am today because of these experiences. I have been shaped by the countless teachers, mentors, and children who I’ve had the privilege to work with and to learn from. And yet the learning and growing is never done. Each stage of development, each child, and each day brings opportunities for reflection and for learning. My wish is to share some of the knowledge, thoughts, perspectives, and insights that help me every day to wake up and try again - to be a more helpful teacher, a more loving parent, and a more compassionate human being.
